Catherine Turner bio

VN Adoptee – Australia
Journalist

Background:

Catherine Turner’s first cries woke up a hamlet in South Vietnam. Her father was killed in battle and her severely impoverished mother gave her up to an orphanage. After hours of bartering, Baby Catherine finally convinced the Turners to extend their Australian family.

Catherine grew up in a NSW country town. She loves playing sport, music and outdoor activities. A stint in the Army Reserve revealed her natural ability to aim and shoot – which helped her with her camera work! After taking a journalism course Catherine worked as a volunteer radio journalist and newsreader for several months in North Queensland. Catherine found her birth mother in Vietnam in 2003 and is currently working on documenting this amazing event.
